At the tender age of 8, Dennis faced a profound loss when his mother passed away. Left with the responsibility of caring for his younger brother, Benjamin, and two older sisters, life’s challenges loomed large. With unwavering determination, he and his family navigated the stormy seas of adversity together.
In the face of scarcity, Dennis’s second oldest sister made a remarkable sacrifice. She left her high school education behind to find work, ensuring that her younger brother, Benjamin, could pursue his own dreams through education. This act of selflessness left an indelible mark on Dennis, igniting a fire within him to succeed and give back.
Dennis’s first pair of shoes didn’t arrive until 6th grade. Before that, he trod the path to school in broken flip-flops or simply barefoot. Such circumstances would have deterred many, but not Dennis. His grandmother’s resourcefulness shone through when she would split pencils into three pieces, providing him, his cousins, and his son Benjamin with something to write with.
Yet, Dennis encountered difficulties in school, a stark contrast to his older sisters who frequently received awards for their academic achievements. Feelings of hopelessness and self-doubt cast shadows over his path. To cope, he turned to unhealthy habits, like consuming coconut wine called “tuba.”
However, life had more in store for Dennis. His friends and sisters introduced him to the teachings of Jesus. An old neighbor’s act of kindness, offering “poorage” and speaking of God’s love, lingered in his memory. Dennis ultimately surrendered his life to God, a transformational moment that led him down a profoundly different path.
As faith enveloped his life, Dennis overcame his addiction and found renewed hope. He dedicated years to serving as a pastor and joined the missionary movement, Youth With A Mission (YWAM). It was during this journey that he crossed paths with the love of his life, Emily, and together they welcomed their son Benjamin into their lives.
Today, Dennis and Emily, along with their son Benjamin, and their friends, are on a mission to provide meals, education, and hope to 3,500 children each month through Kingdom Legacy Ministries. This non-profit organization continues to grow, nourishing the dreams of countless young minds.
Dennis’s entrepreneurial spirit also shines brightly through his business, Instant Web Tools, a web development company with a heart. A significant portion of its profits directly supports their mission of helping children in need.
